Weathertite

CEO’s Weatherization and EmPower New York programs help many people lower their energy bills each month. However, CEO wants to help everyone, no matter their income, to make their homes safer and more efficient.

That is why we created Weathertite:  a fee-based service open to anyone in the Rensselaer County area. No matter your income, you can apply to have CEO weatherize your home at a fair price.

The service works like our Weatherization Program. CEO’s Building Performance Institute (BPI) certified auditors will visit your home after your application has been approved. The auditor will inspect the building to find problem areas, like broken windows or holes in the walls. Next, they will use a “blower door” device to push air through the entire building. This helps our team to measure where air is being lost.

With that information, CEO’s auditors will create a custom plan for your home using some or all of the following services:

• Adding or improving insulation
• Adding weather-stripping on doors and windows
• Caulking around seams and openings
• Patching holes in walls or windows
• Testing, cleaning, repairing or possibly even upgrading heating systems

After your home has been weatherized, you can expect to see a significant decrease in your monthly energy bills – up to a 50% reduction.

Eligibility Requirements:

Weathertite is available to all residents of Rensselaer County and the surrounding areas, no matter their income.
