About Us

The Foster Grandparent Program for the Capital District has been sponsored by the Commission on Economic Opportunity since 1976 and services the surrounding counties including Albany, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Warren and Washington.  If you are 55 or older, live in one of the seven counties and are income eligible you can have the opportunity to work with children for 15 to 40 hours per week and be a part of a group of peers that are involved with training opportunities, outings and events. 

The Foster Grandparent Program staff are on-hand to assist you with the process of matching you with an appropriate site and to ensure you of a wonderful experience.
