Association "The Fairest of Them All" Bridal Show
APRIL 29, 2008—TROY,
NY - Franklin Plaza, Capital
District Wedding Association and the Commission on Economic Opportunity
(CEO) teamed up to present a special bridal show on Sunday, April
27. "The Fairest of Them All" - which had more than 75
participating vendors - raised funds to benefit the Commission on
Economic Opportunity's (CEO's) alternative education programs for
at-risk youth.

–TROY, NY – The Commission on Economic Opportunity (CEO) is
once again providing a coat for all of the children in their Head Start
and Early Head Start programs. As in the past, they are thrilled to
have Rensselaer County’s Unified Family Services and the
Industrial Development Agency helping to sponsor the coat drive.

-- Troy, N.Y. The Commission on Economic Opportunity (CEO) is
once again sponsoring food baskets for the Thanksgiving Holiday. The
program, coordinated through CEO's food pantry, will provide baskets to
100 families in need in Rensselaer County. Distribution of the
baskets, all of which were reserved in advance, will take place on
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, November 19th through 21st at the food
pantry located in the Joseph L Bruno Family Resource Center.

County Executive Kathleen Jimino visited the home of an elderly Eagle
Bridge resident who was able to remain in her home thanks to
improvements made under the Commission on Economic Opportunity’s

October 25, 2007— The Commission
on Economic Opportunity (CEO) held its

Season for Helping,A
Time for
Tasting" fundraiser, October 25 at The Atrium in
downtown Troy. Rensselear
County Legislature Chairman, Neil Kelleher (l.) served asauctioneer at the
event, assisted by CEO's Executive Director Karen
Gordon. The
event, which also included segment featuring 15 local
restaurants, raised more than $36,000 for at-risk youth.
October 30, 2007— Troy
N.Y. In 2006, more than 13 million
households-in-poverty nationwide spent an average of 25 percent of
their annual income on energy bills just to maintain modest usage. New
Yorkers carried the highest energy burden, with households at-or-below
federal poverty guidelines spending an average of 26 percent of their
annual income on energy costs.

Opportunity (CEO), accepts a check from National Grid Vice
President/Business Services Bill Flaherty to kick off the fundraising
for CEO's October 25 benefit for at-risk youth throughout Rensselaer
County and the greater Capital District region. National Grid is the
major sponsor of "A Season for Helping" Auction and "A Time for
Tasting" menu sampling from many of Troy's top restaurants. The event
will be held at the Troy Atrium.
CEO YOUTHBUILD PROGRAM RECEIVES $10,000
DONATION FROM COOL INSURING AGENCY
June 12, 2007 – Lansingburgh, N.Y.–
Cool Insuring Agency, Inc., today presented the Commission on Economic
Opportunity for the Greater Capital Region, Inc. (CEO) with a $10,000
donation to support the organization’s YouthBuild Program. The CEO is
one of 15 nonprofit organizations to receive a donation as part of
Cool’s 150th Anniversary Celebration.
