CEO has overseen this program for the Corporation for National Community Service for the past 37 years.

Monday, May 17 2010 — Burden Lake Country Club
Monday, May 17 was CEO’s first annual Spring Swing golf fundraising event. Held at Burden Lake Country Club, this event drew in over 80 golfers and raised over $21,000. Proceeds from this event will be used to purchase the playground equipment for our Southern Rensselaer County Family Resource Center. CEO is in the process of building the Center in the Schodack/Nassau area. For the first time the families of Southern Rensselaer County will have better access to Head Start and many other CEO services. Friday, May 14 2010 — Stepping Stones I, 754 Fourth Ave, Lansingburgh
CEO held its annual Community Action Day luncheon at the Hilton Garden Inn in Troy, honoring community partners and persevering customers over lunch and an awards ceremony. Words of inspiration were spoken by Congressman Paul D. Tonko. Executive Director Karen Gordon reminded participants of the great accomplishments of CEO over the past 45 years. CEO celebrated its 45th anniversary at the Spring Fling block party following the luncheon. The block party, held at Stepping Stones I, was attended by nearly 500 community members, and included food, games, and information about the programs of CEO and its community partners. This program provides opportunities for father and father figures to spend quality time with their children and encourages men to be more involved in their child’s life.

On Thursday, December 3rd nearly 100 Foster Grandparents enjoyed a noontime lunch that was given in their honor and to thank them for the many hours of volunteer time that they give to help the children on the Capital District. CEO's Foster Grandparent Program provides more than 40 sites throughout a seven county area with volunteers that help children with special needs. National Grid announced its support of the Commission on Economic Opportunity (CEO) today with a donation to the CEO’s YouthBuild program aimed at fostering the development of “at risk” youth.
National Grid is supporting the program with a donation of $4,000 to be used to help purchase the building supplies needed to build a new “green” home as part of program in Lansingburgh, NY.

The event was held on Tuesday, August 25th at 10:00AM at 722 Fourth Ave. in Troy (Lansingburgh). CEO will held its annual Community Action Day festivities on Friday, May 15th this year. The luncheon was held at Franklin Terrace in Tro and the Spring Fling Community Celebration was held at Stepping Stones I, where a crowd of more than 500 gathered to enjoy food, music, prizes and lots of fun. This year’s Spring Fling also served as a kick-off event to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Stepping Stones One opening its doors as a Family Resource and Head Start Center. Tatianah Ziegler (below), age 4, poses with the t-shirt that was worn by all in celebration of Stepping Stones I's 25th Anniversary Celebration. Tatianah created the artwork that was used for the SSI's 20th Anniversary logo.
