We tell our customers that self-sufficiency is the answer to a life of success and self-fulfillment; we believe we should practice what we preach. To this end, CEO has always believed in building our own sustainable businesses. We presently have four fee-based services that we offer to the community: Child care at Stepping Stones II Early Learning Center, Energy Audits offered through Weathertite, Conference Services and Children and Family Counseling.
All four of these fee-based services are successful and are also providing additional employment opportunities for our customers. This is another example of a win-win situation and CEO making the most of every dollar.
The Center for Energy Efficiency and Building Science (CEEBS) at Hudson Valley Community College has partnered with Workforce Development Institute to offer a new class, Basic Air Sealing and Insulation (BASI).
The BASI course will offer participants an opportunity to gain the skills needed to begin a career, or further their education in home weatherization. Upon successful completion of the BASI course, students will receive a nationally recognized certification.
This course is open to all, but is free to income eligible students. This unique project is designed to assist low-wage workers and disadvantaged population with gaining access to a new career in a growing field.
For current class schedules, visit the CEEB Learning Center website at www.hvcc.edu/ceebs/trainings.html . For more information call 518.269.4111 or email ceebs@hvcc.edu. See the HVCC website for registration and information.
