Community-Based Services
Family and Children Counseling
Services – Provides counseling services, using a variety of
modalities to treat individuals, children and families in the community
through partnerships with the Troy City School District, Head Start and
the community at large.
Foster Grandparent Program
– Offers senior citizens, age 60 and older, an opportunity to provide
warm and nurturing support in non-profit community organizations, such
as schools, Head Start Centers, daycare centers and after-school
programs.
Student Outreach Support
(SOS) - This program provides an opportunity for
suspended middle and high school youth in the Troy City School District
to be successful in a non-traditional school setting. While in
suspension from school, the youth continue to study and to learn the
necessary material to continue their academic progress. This program is
located on Old Sixth Avenue in CEO’s Family Resource Center.
Supplemental Homeless
Intervention Program (SHIP) – This program assists
Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) eligible households in
maintaining safe, stable and affordable housing through eviction
prevention, housing retention and case management services.
Teenage Opportunity
Program (TOP) – this program services Medicaid eligible
youth between the ages of 14-21 who are at-risk for pregnancy,
pregnant, or parenting. These youth are assisted in accessing necessary
medical, social, psychosocial, educational, and other services in
accordance with the goals contained in a written goal plan mutually
agreed upon by the case manager and the youth.
Youthbuild
– is a youth and community development program that addresses core
issues facing low-income communities: housing, education, employment,
crime prevention, and leadership development. In this program, youth
ages 16-24 work toward obtaining their GED or high school diploma,
learn job skills, and serve their communities by building affordable
housing.
21st Century Program
– in collaboration with the Troy School District
and CEO. The 21st Century Program is a literacy based after school
program located at Doyle Middle School. Students participate to improve
their scores on the NYS English Language Arts Assessment. The students
split their time between literacy classes, recreation at the YMCA and
life skills development.
Children’s Center at
Rensselaer County Family Court – is a
unique child care solution for parent/caretakers who need to be at
family court. The center has drop-in child care that is available
without reservations and offers play space with many entertaining and
learning activities. These activities are designed to promote
cooperation, socialization, listening skills, and motor development.
