Provide Coats for More then 100 Children in CEO's Head Start Program
Many Warm Coats, Many Warm Hearts
DECEMBER 30, 2007
–TROY, NY – The Commission on Economic Opportunity (CEO) is
once again providing a coat for all of the children in their Head Start
and Early Head Start programs. As in the past, they are thrilled to
have Rensselaer County’s Unified Family Services and the
Industrial Development Agency helping to sponsor the coat drive.
On hand to give out the coats was County Executive Kathleen Jimino
along with several other County employees who helped in sorting and
delivering the coats.
“Knowing you were part of an effort to help children stay warm is
truly a wonderful experience and I want to thank all who participated
in the IDA golf tournament that generated the money used to purchase
the new winter coats, and all of the County Employees who contributed
their time and resources to this program that undoubtedly helped
brighten a child’s holiday season,” stated Jimino.
This year the “Coats for Kids” program is being sponsored
by various individuals and businesses, but CEO is still in need of
additional sponsors in order to provide a coat and a toy for all of
their children in the Head Start and Early Head Start programs.
