Toddler Teacher (RFRC)
The Commission on Economic Opportunity is seeking a Toddler teacher for our Early Head Start program in Rensselaer. This position follows a 10 month, school calendar schedule and is subject to a summer layoff period. Hours are Monday – Friday, 7:30am to 3:00pm.
Responsibilities: Promote children’s development and learning through the implementation of a developmentally appropriate curriculum. Use age appropriate and positive guidance strategies to teach, encourage, and redirect inappropriate classroom behavior. Build positive relationships with families through positive and professional communication, creating a classroom environment that is welcoming, respects individual differences and diversity, and encourage parent participation in the classroom.
Build and maintain collaborative and professional relationships with co-teacher and staff. Collaborate and positively communicate with staff in order to ensure effective communication.
High School Diploma plus an Infant/Toddler CDA, and prior experience with Infant and/or Toddler aged children
Or: AAS or BACHELOR’S in Early Childhood Education and one year teaching experience with infants/toddlers
SUBSTITUTE Teacher Assistant
Title: SUBSTITUTE Teacher Assistant
Location: All Rensselaer County CEO facility locations
Responsibilities: To work on an on-call basis. Will assist teachers with classroom management in childcare/preschool setting within CEO’s daycare centers.
Qualifications: High School diploma or GED and experience working with young children required. Must be at least 18 years of age.
