Assistant Director of Operations

Title:   Assistant Director of Operations

Responsibilities:  The Commission on Economic Opportunity, a local Non-Profit organization is seeking a dynamic, creative and organized professional to join the senior management team. The Assistant Director of Program Operations will supervise staff and monitor program activities designed to strengthen and expand multiple human service programs that provide critical services to the community.  The Assistant Director will be responsible to develop and implement the overall vision and direction of the programs assigned and also ensure compliance with all outcomes and objectives of performance-based contracts.  This position reports to the Director of Program Operations and works collaboratively with multiple departments within the organization
Qualifications:   Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field, experience overseeing multiple programs simultaneously, and prior supervisory experience required. Demonstrated success building and maintaining relationships with community collaborators, experience serving economically disadvantage populations. Not for profit management experience a plus.  Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Human Service or related field preferred.

Family Advocate (JLBFRC)

Title: Family Advocate (JLBFRC)
Location: Troy, NY
Salary: $12.00 – $13.00 / hour

Responsibilities: The candidate will act as an advocate for Early Head Start and Head Start families whose children are presently enrolled in the childcare programs (center based and school based). Will be responsible for assisting with development of goal plans for participating families, for promoting self-sufficiency and for working with the families to help them succeed in their goals. Candidate must also have the ability to form therapeutic relationships with children and families from diverse ethnic, racial and cultural backgrounds and demonstrated skills in communication, as well as ability to work effectively and cooperatively with a multi-service agency. Visiting families in their homes or a mutually agreed upon location will be part of the job responsibilities as well.
Qualifications: Associates Degree in Human Services or related field is required along with a valid, clean driver’s license, and access to a vehicle. Preferred: Bi-lingual plus a Bachelor’s Degree in human service field plus prior experience working with families in an advocacy role.

Preschool Teacher

Title: Preschool Teacher
Location: Nassau, NY
Salary: $11.00 – $13.50 / hour

Responsibilities: This position follows a 10 month, school calendar schedule and is subject to a summer layoff period. Hours are Monday – Friday, 7:30am to 3:00pm. Promotes children’s development and learning through the implementation of a developmentally appropriate curriculum. Uses age appropriate and positive guidance strategies to teach, encourage, and redirect inappropriate classroom behavior. Builds positive relationships with families through positive and professional communication, creating a classroom environment that is welcoming, respects individual differences and diversity, and encourage parent participation in the classroom. Also builds and maintains collaborative and professional relationships with co-teacher and center staff, in order to ensure effective communication at all times.

Qualifications:  An associate, baccalaureate or advanced degree in early childhood education;
An associate degree in a field related to early childhood education and coursework equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education with experience teaching preschool-age children;
A baccalaureate or advanced degree in any field and coursework equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education with experience teaching preschool-age children.

School Counselor / Social Worker for School 2

Title: School Counselor / Social Worker – School 2
Location: Troy, New York
Salary: $20.00 / hour

Responsibilities: The role of the School Counselor will include but is not limited to: providing support in behavior modification, crisis intervention, student and family counseling, character education, and addressing social and emotional needs. The School Counselor will be available two times per month (including one Saturday) for student and family activities centered on academics and parent engagement. The School Counselor will meet monthly with each classroom teacher to discuss student and family concerns and successes. Position is responsible for parent outreach and engagement initiatives, including parent involvement programs that recruit individual parents and collective parent engagement programs that support both the school and families as well as conducting programs in the Center. In addition, this position is the point person for the school’s Character Education Program.
Qualifications: New York State LMSW or LMHC required; prior counseling experience and clean MVR report also required.

Toddler Teacher (RFRC)

High School Diploma plus an Infant/Toddler CDA, and prior experience with Infant and/or Toddler aged children
Or: AAS or BACHELOR’S in Early Childhood Education and one year teaching experience with infants/toddlers

 

SUBSTITUTE Teacher Assistant

Title:  SUBSTITUTE Teacher Assistant
Location:  All Rensselaer County CEO facility locations
Classification:  Non-Exempt
Responsibilities:  To work on an on-call basis.  Will assist teachers with classroom management in childcare/preschool setting within CEO’s daycare centers.
Qualifications: High School diploma or GED and experience working with young children required.  Must be at least 18 years of age.
